I am trying to watch this Serbia/Ghana game and it's unbearable! I have watched all the games on TV with 2 different groups of people, and not a single person had a good comment about the Vuvuzela. The commentating is being drowned out, and you cannot even tell the difference when a player makes a move deserving of a crowd cheer.
1) The vuvuzela is loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage (reference: http://www.scielo.org.za/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0256-95742010000400024&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en )
2) The Vuvuzela is not part of South African culture/heritage/tradition - They only started getting mass produced in 2001. Also, in case you hadn't noticed, it's made of plastic. Hardly traditional.
3) Other instruments can play more than one note, and people who chant and sing don't do it in a droning monotone.
FIFA, please ban this now or this 2010 World Cup will surely be a disaster. We can't enjoy the football at all.
